The children of Israel quickly forgot the good things God had done for them and complained," Moses and Aaron prayed. God told Moses to take his rod, speak to the rock, and it would give water. Did Moses obey? Well, he took his rod. But instead of speaking to the rock like God said, he became angry and struck the rock, not just once but twice. Because Moses and Aaron did not believe and obey God all the way, God would not let them lead the people into the land He had given. Are you paying attention to what God says to you in His Word? It is important to obey all the way.
Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, "Because you did not believe Me,
to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them."
This was the water of Meribah, because the children of Israel contended with the Lord, and He was hallowed among them. Numbers 20:12-13
